Tuesday, August 5
6 pm to 8 pm
We are partnering with Citrus Heights Neighborhood Associations Area 2 and Area 6 to host a National Night Out event at Ascension. This is an annual event held on the first Tuesday of August across the US, US territories, and military bases worldwide. This, however, is a first for our neighborhood.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our neighbors, deepen our sense of community, and have an enjoyable evening out.
Planning is well underway, and there are sign up sheets for those who are able to help with set up & clean up, games, food, etc. We’re also looking for local businesses/groups to donate or sponsor pieces of the event.
We’ve lined up Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen as a food vendor; they’ve agreed to add some kid-friendly items to their regular menu. We will provide FREE snow cones and popcorn, and are hoping to get supplies for those donated.
We have a professional DJ/MC for the evening, along with professional face painters, a bounce house, fingerprinting through the National Child ID Program, a police vehicle for folks to explore, as well as a police drone demonstration. We have young people who are willing to provide techie type assistance to folks, especially around uploading important Citrus Heights information onto their phones. No evening out is complete without games, and we have those lined up as well. This will be a pet-friendly event as we will have the Paw Spa that has been so popular at the Sunday Funday.
Directors from the Neighborhood Associations have been involved in planning to date and will continue to be. We have a financial commitment from them to help with the costs associated with this event.
Please see Terri in the church office know if you’d like to be a part of the NNO team.
